Clinical Psychologist & Brainspotting Therapist in Sacramento, CA

AREAS OF SPECIALIZATIONS:

Brainspotting & Somatic Therapy
Couples/Partners Therapy
Psychological Evaluations for Immigration Cases

Hi, I’m Ivonne.

I’m a queer immigrant Latinx clinical psychologist, somatic psychotherapist, and Certified Brainspotting therapist in Sacramento, CA.

I support people from marginalized communities who long to live a life that is authentically joyful and meaningful - but feel stuck and overwhelmed by the anxieties and traumas of their lives.

I guide them through the process of shedding unwanted reactions and dynamics that are no longer serving them - while also healing from the experiences that may have led them to manifest these responses in the first place.

So that they can reconnect with their body, reclaim their intuition, & ultimately, return to a life that feels full of possibility.

MY APPROACH TO COUNSELING

Compassionate & affirming.
Trauma-informed & somatic-based.
Anti-oppressive & culturally humble.
& most of all, humanizing.

My approach to counseling is rooted in the belief that you already have everything you need within yourself to heal. & therapy is just one (of many) spaces to rediscover and deepen that journey.

In my office, we invite in all aspects of your being - & attend to all of those parts with gentle care, compassion, and ease. To understand not only how they arrived to being - but also the wisdom and gifts that they have to offer us and others.

Because despite what societal forces tell us, we are not problems to be fixed. We are complete beings worthy of joy. of rest. of healing.

So, while you have arrived here feeling defined or dictated by your anxiety or your trauma, we’ll work together to understand not only who you are because of it but who you are in spite of it.

So that you can disrupt the harsh cycles that keep you feeling anxious and defeated - and step into the dimension of you that you’ve always envisioned.

& I’ll be there alongside you - meeting you exactly where you are and supporting you throughout every moment of your journey.

My Journey

For me, the personal and professional are interconnected. I entered into the field of psychology after witnessing the ways in which the stories of mental health and of trauma - in my family, in my culture, in my communities - were largely silenced, pathologized, and ignored. This awareness served as the catalyst for my journey towards pursuing a degree in clinical psychology.

Throughout this journey, my personal commitment has remained the same: to reduce the stigmatization of mental health and co-create healing spaces for marginalized populations. Pachamama Therapy Collective is an embodiment of this mission.

Because healing is absolutely possible.

& it is incredibly liberating and life-changing. I’m so honored and excited to be on this journey with you.
